depends on what features YOU want.
Do you want it for just music?
Do you want FM radio?
Do you want to watch videos?
Do you want a LARGE storage space (30-60GB) or smaller?
etc.
which player is the best depends on what you want.

Zen has some sweet ones, but the best MP3 player i could think of would be a PDA running on windows mobile becuase ou can call and go on the internet. And takes miniSD Cards. I know its not really an MP3 player but its still gets my vote.

Best is relative to a person's preference.
All around the iRiver Clix is the best flash player. It plays video, has photo viewing, an FM tuner, FM recording, and voice recording. You can also use it as an alarm clock, and it supports MTV's URGE music service. Battery life is great! It only comes in 2GB, though.
The best large capacity player is the Creative Zen Vision: M, hands-down. It's customizable, and has a great screen along with a wide range of features and solid battery life.
Honorable mention goes to the Sandisk Sansa e200 series (I have one of these, too) and the Toshiba Gigabeat S.

Get the Zen Vision M. I did a lot of research before buying mine and am glad I did. I got the best player on the market. It has much better quality than IPod and is compatible with way more file types. The screen is awesome, it sounds great and it is easy to use. If you are looking at 30 gig players get this one, you won't be dissapointed.
