I would think that he meant that each person has their own personal philosophies, and that their exploration of philosophy is based on their own beliefs and interests.

Everything you've learned and experienced though out your life is part of your autobiography; your own personal story. Put this with enough brains to put 2 and 2 together and you can form an opinion. Philosophy is basically some ones opinion. Some are more well known that others.

Philosophy is often one person's attempt to make sense of their individual world. In Nietzsche's case, he probably also refers to his own history of philosophical writings, as they serve to be an autobiography of sorts as well.

Because of if 100 different people read the same philosophical statement, there could be 100 different interpretations, based on those 100 different life experiences prior to reading it.

we tend to adopt things that are personally beneficial to us, so if someone else's idea tends to reinforce positively what we know has worked for us personally, we see it as a truth, and using a generalization to attract other similar positive events to our life.
