What a fascinating question. I often ask my students the same thing. I have been fascinated by the concept since I was a teenager. Anne Rice once said that there is something within each of us that wants to be the vampire- to be completely evil and live forever. Its the consequences we fear. The vampire is an archetypal symbol of evil that goes back to antiquity and has taken many forms over the millennia. Each of us must fight the evil within. The earliest recorded vampire were the lamia. Lilith was a lamia and is often portrayed as the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

depends on the type of vampire. Are you talking about Anne rice vampires, Sherrliyn Kenyon vampires, or the cheesy horror vampires.

The general concept of a "vampire" i find interesting. Imagine being able to live through the ages. To see how the future turns out. To see what life is like in 100, 200, 500 years. That would be amazing.

The vampire who draws nourishment, be it through blood, psychic or energy, from mere mortals has so much power over other beings. People who love power i think would really love being a vampire.

Personally I'm torn. I would love to see the future and i don't mind the whole nourishment or night-only side, the part that bothers me is, have you noticed vampires are always lonely. That really deep loneliness, where everyone they have ever loved dies before your eyes if they aren't turned.

Think about it!

Yes I do wish i could be a vampire. It is something sexy about drinking blood. And to live for ever . Why not? Read the Book of Nod.

I have had the opportunity to live intimately with just as such through marriage and myself find the mind set not to my liking. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone, let alone undertake this personality.

Yes. No more mortal worries. Constantly sexual. Cool sense of style. What's not to desire? Besides the sun, garlic, crosses, holy water, churches, being locked outside everyone's house unless they invite you, steaks, Buffy, Blade... you get the picture.

We-ell, I used to be one! A psychic Vampire, that is; feeding off peoples emotions and 'vibes'. Fortunately, I learnt mental control and put a stop to it! (I still use the ability on rare occasions, though...tut, tut!)

:)

No, I have no desire to have to kill others in order to stay alive or to be lacking a soul. I also have no desire to turn others into vampires.
