Since my surgery a couple of months ago, and since then I have really bad gas and awful BMs. I was warned this would happen, but I'm wondering how long it will last? Anybody else go through this or still going through it?

I had mine removed in 1998. Had many bowel problems since and was finally diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome a few years ago. With some diet and lifestyle changes though I live pretty symptom free. Talk to your doctor and have them recommend a nutritionist.

I had my gall bladder removed in 1984, 4 months after giving birth to my first child. When she was in the womb, her feet were kicking my gall bladder. About 3 1/2 months after I had her, I started doubling over from the excruciating pain. I thought it was my appendix. My doctor did an ultrasound and told me my gall bladder was lacerated from my daughter kicking it while she was inside. He told me a lot of women have their gall bladders removed for the same reason after giving birth. I had no problems at all after my surgery, except that I no longer could wear any revealing clothing, because of my 8 inch long scar! I just get very bad heartburn and I also have acid reflux, because I love spicy foods and when you don't have a gall bladder you are not supposed to eat anything spicy...I will settle for heartburn....I won't give up my spicy foods! I hope your symptoms go away soon, maybe you should talk to your doctor.

I had laproscopic gall bladder surgery in 2000 and never had the symptoms you have described. Have you thought that it may be your diet? I'd talk with your physician and see if there are certain foods you should avoid until your system settles into what is more normal for you.

Yes I did have my gallbladder removed this last June,my doctor told me that there are some food we won't be able to eat.Because your gallbladder is a filter for food. I found out he hard way like you,now I have to take Zelnorm for IBS,but that offal pain is gone.I would take with your Dr. and see what he would recommend for you, everyone is different.
