It's a bit different in Argentina in that they have 2 championships in 1 Season , Called The Clausura and The Apertura with a break in the middle
At the end of the Full season the 2 or 3 *(I'll try and find out for sure how many 80% sure it's 2) teams who ammassed the least points are relegated

This is a very complicated process. First, all teams in the National A average their points over 3 seasons to determine who will be relagated. If a team has not been in the National A 3 years, only the years played in top division, only the years involved are averaged.
The bottom 2 teams are automaticly regulated, the 2 teams above them play playoffs against the 3rd & 4th place teams from National B.
You can see this year's relagation tables at:

This is the only right answers...kinda of long sorry. In Argentina you came in 1st or 2nd place (Talleres de Cordoba and get relegated) They have what is called "Promedio", Porcentage. If you had a low Promedio the season before, you can win the division and still get relagated. They did this to protect the Big Teams...River and Boca. So heres how it works...everytime you have a good season, you get a good Promedio, and that keeps you from getting relagated. If you have a bad season your promedio is low. The 17th and 18th worse Promedio, have a chance to play a team from the 2nd Division. They play a home and away game. Winner stays or goes up to Primera A. The 19h and 20th worse promedio go straight to 2nd Division. So River and Boca and even Velez can win no games for like 2 years, and still remaind in 1st Division...because they have a high Promedio...it sucks, but like I said it is done that way so that the big teams don't get relagated...lost of money!!

there was an answer almost right... but not entirely.
at the end of 2 seasson (apertura and clausura) team 19th and 20th go directly to 2nd division (nacional B) and Nacional B has a much more complicated system in which the 1st team to get the promotion is known first and the other one after that. Then teams 18th and 17th play some sort of "play out" with 2 teams of nacional B which are defined in a reduced tournament.
Little complex isn't it?
Hope U find it useful. Bye!

at the end of the two seasons on argentina (que "clausura" and the "apertura")... two teams go directly to second division (the number 20 and 19 ) and another two teams (the number 18 and 17) plays a "promotion" vs the firs two teams of the second division on argentina (the "nacional B")
the promotion is that the "team 17" of first division plays two games vs the "team 2" of the second division.... with the "team 18" and the "team 1" its the same... and the two teams that have better results on this games go to the first division

Its not so different from the rest, I think they take into account what their position was in the last two tournaments.
