DSL is one of several forms of broadband internet access. DSL allows for your computer to communicate via the internet faster, though the actual connection speed will vary some based on how slow the computer on the other end can respond.
If you are referring to the overall speed of your computer, DSL will not change your own computer's ability to process interally. Computer speeds are generally indicated (to the public) by the clock-rate of the processor (like 530 MHz, 2.4GHz, etc.) however this is only one of many factors in computer design that affect its speed of operation.
RAM access speed, peripheral device speed (like hard drives), and BUS speed play incredibly important roles in determining how fast your computer can operate.

When you say slow, are you talking about your computer in itself or connecting to different sites?
If your talking about connecting to different sites Yahoo, MSN..etc.
Depending on how close you are the connection box (Telephone Switching Station) in your neighborhood.
The closer you are, the faster you can surf. (If this is your problem you'll have to call your phone co.)
IF its just your computer itself all of a sudden going slower,
you could have SPYWEAR, or a Virus.
For a Virus scan online. you can go to http://www.symantec.com
it will take a little while to scan your computer.
And IF it finds anything, it will either give you a tool you can download to get rid of it.. or tell you step by step instructions on how to do it, just that will involve going into your REGISTRY and if you don't know anything about that....DON'T DO IT cause you'll screw your computer up...
For SPYWEAR there is afree version you can download from
http://www.download.com. ( I do not have this one so I can't persoanlly say how good or bad it is...but I have read that it is very good).
Good Luck.

Go to "start".."run"..type in msconfig then click on "startup"..uncheck anything slowing your system down then click on "Services" and do the same...then you'll have to reboot...when system reboots it will prompt you about the changes you made...just check the box on the bottom left side saying..."don't show this message again"
That should solve your problem...Good luck

well if your pc is not up to scratch it's not going to help. things like the processor speed, the amount of ram you have etc are all going to affect your surfing pleasure.
