The answer to this question depends on ones definition of morality as well as the degree of immorality one exhibits. If one is grossly immoral, Bin La-din for example, then eliminating that person, by definition, saves the lives of many. This is true, of course, if you are of the genre that considers Bin La-din immoral. Here both criteria are met ; gross immorality and the belief that the individual is immoral. On the other hand, there is Mother Theresa. Few would question neither the morality of this entity nor the high degree to which her morality is exibited.
Between these two extremes lies a vast "gray" area. Does the petty thief who steals to feed his family deserve to live over the 10 war heros? for example. At least the thief never killed anyone. Better to leave answers like this to a truly impartial judicial system, if you can find one...

May be No and May be Yes. It depends on the situation when this is happening. If someone says that kill that person since he is going to kill 10 person. I will not kill him as that is not what is correct. However I am a police men and chasing one criminal and he is about to detonate a bomb, I may kill him if there is not other alternative.
So it all depend on situation and power bestows in my hands.

In short absolutely.
If the 10 men are going to kill the one man for being a pediphile or rapist or something equally horrible i will gladly deal with the murder myself and spare the ten men prison or death.
On the other hand, if ten men were trying to brutally murder one man trying to protect his family or home i will side with the one man, proberably to my demise.
What i am trying to say is it entirely depends on if the one man deserves to die or not, if he does not, i will not kill him to save ten others.

Yes, if I thought the one mad deserved it, and it was the only way to save the others. But, then again, if the one man was the good guy, and the other ten were the bad guys, I wouldn't stop him.
