Yep! I think you are on it! Deja Vu is nothing but experiences that are triggered by something resembling what we dreamt years ago or something actually experienced in real life many years ago. Our mind is a memory bank! All of our night-time and day-time dreams along with our thoughts, past and present, with our past and present daily experiences- all of them are recorded in our minds. Years from now, you'll experience something that will trigger something from your memory bank- And give you the impression of being familiar with "that" situation.

yup ^^
I think I've thought little about that, too, before. (NOT Deja vu right now)
The subconcious is such an amazing part of human psychology and it's amazing what things happen there. I'm currently writing a story inspired by a dream I had!
It's also just so much fun to think about all the things the subconcious does, and can/could, do for you. Including Deja vu/seeing the future. And a person does have oh, so many dreams during the night it's impossible to remember them all, especially the early ones.

I think your brain just takes things it has seen and works with your imagination to make up new scenarios and it helps you work with the new situations you encounter. You do better with stuff if you've dealt with it before, and I think your brain might be kind of practicing dealing with things by using things you've experienced and maybe changing things about them, not necessarily realistically. Since you dream so much and most often don't consciously recall any of it, maybe you're going through a situation your brain has thought of before and so it all seems so familiar, so you get weirded out and say "whoa! deja vu! I swear I knew you were going to say that!"
That seems like the most realistic theory, but I have had a lot of stuff with deja vu happen. I once remembered everything that was going to happen, so I changed it for the better. And just a little bit ago, I remembered what the person was going to say to the question I was going to ask, so I just didn't bother asking. There's stuff that happens like that all the time. I don't think that we dream everything that's going to happen all the time, though.

Deja vu is not just a feeling or a remembrance. It is the reoccurance of an actual event. It isn't a dream. It takes us many lifetimes to get a perfect existence. We will have moments in these life times that happen again and again. It is important that we recognize them and progress.

Didn't I answer this question before?
I'm sure I did...
I agree with the dream theory. We experience things in our subconsciousness that when certain conditions match in the real life, we suddenly "remember" the event.

Yes, I had a dream once where my siblings and I were in the car with my dad having a conversation. A couple days later, I was having the same conversation with my dad and siblings in the same car wearing the same thing.

To me deja vu is the ablility to let your subconscious open to your conscious. When you realize you have had deja vu, it is the subconscious overcoming the conscious.

Interesting theory, could be plausible...but you aren't the first person to have this theory. I've heard it many times from various other people (even had it myself once). Since so many people keep having this theory, maybe that means it is true??

I think your theory is perfectly good. You said what I've always thought.
