If you do not check a company before entering into a transaction, you could lose your money, time and credibility. Some widely used resources are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center ( www.fraud.org) These days, you can easily find out more about a company using the internet in a few minutes. From a company's website, you can details about its ownership, how old the company really is and feedback from the company's customers.

It is a scam. All companies like that are scams. When you go there and you "make it," they tell you that you must pay a lot of money and join there classes to ever get an acting job. Go to a legitimate place.

I think some of them are scams, but not all. Alyssa Milano is a former childstar, she began acting at age 8 in a minor role in the movie Annie, I can't remeber which orphan she played though. I tried to find it, but no site I went to credited her in the credits. I did read in a biography for her that she played an orphan in Annie.

Shirley Temple, The Dead End Kids and The Little Rascals were (and will always be) the only true child stars. They are timeless.
The likes of Macauley Culkin and all the forgotten little brat actors(turned adult junkies) that came across our living room screens were and always will be nobodies.

Scams.
Most child stars only become so by having a relative who is a movie producer or actor. In that type of business it is who you know and not what talent you have. Look at Drew Barrymore; would she really have got where she is today if she weren't Spielbergs niece? I don't think so!

actually, to interject, Drew Barrymore isn't Steven Speilberg's neice, she's his goddaughter...but she does have very famous acting relatives, grandfather n such.
and i think it is crappy those kids, especially singing those stupid kid bopz songs are getting paid for what they do.
