I have found that certain Actors that push their views on the public, I have lost all respect for them. I appreciate freedom of speach but do they really think the can change the views of any person that is astute on political subjects,or do they think their big screen presents will mold the mind of the non astute?

This is a good question. There are several actors that I can't stand anymore because they've given their personal opinion and proven themselves to be idiots! If you ask me, Hollywood in general is very narcissistic. They have these grandiose ideas about how wonderful and important they are! Wake up, Hollywood, just do your job and SHUT UP!

They believe that because of their fame, they can push the envelope and create an effect in politics. They assume their fan base will follow them towards whatever political opinion they pursue.
It's a stupid thing for the actors to do; they should stick to acting and leave politics to politicians.

We live in a democracy and, until Bush Co. totally destroys it, citizens are still free to voice their views. And you are free not to patronize their films, etc, should you find that disagreeable. But an actor's job is her JOB. She is free to say anything she wants about her political views, right?

i think that its more about freedom of speech, more than them worrying about who they are offending. they have just as much right as we do to speak their mind, they just have more people listening. wouldn't you use any thing you could to your advantage to be able to spread your views. i would respect the fact that they are speaking their mind on something they care about, no matter the outcome. its funny, we see them fresh out of the shower, or holding their babies in their laps while driving, and we can all raise hell, but let them speak their mind and we all get pissed.
