Peoples' fears are able to make them physically sick for some time after being exposed to them

If its a venomous snake then yes you can have an allergic reaction. If its a non-venomous snake then no you will not have a reaction. Now you can get bit by bigger snakes(or just have a very nasty snake bite usually causes by big snakes, but small snakes can cause damage also) if you don't clean you're wound right then you can indeed catch infection. Or she can simply be recating out of fear. Many people do that when coming into some type of contact with spiders snakes or insects, they get sick, have headaches get hives all kinds of things. If things don't straighten out in a few days hten take her to the doctor.

ok its highly unlikely your wife is allergic to just the snake. Yes even if the snake is supposedly non venomous and bites you you can still have an allergic reaction to the bite. I've known people who've been bitten by a garter snake and are allergic to their venom and they've suffered a very bad bite and a very bad infection from that bite. I've also known people to get a pretty bad infection and reaction out of a bite from a python, rat snake, gopher snake, etc. It just depends on each person. I know a man who was bitten by a gopher snake and the snake wouldn't let go because he felt threatened. He had to wait him out and make him feel comfortable enough to let go before he would release his jaw. He's a fell snake enthusiast and wouldn't harm the animal to make him let go and well there wasn't any lighter fluid around to hold under his nose to make him release. Anyway, after he let go he cleaned the wound but it still swelled up pretty badly. It was just the bodies reaction to the stress of the bite being held for so long. See my point???

What's an aswer? If you mean reaction yes you can have an allergic reaction to the bite of a snake but I don't think by just being near one

It could be possiblr to be allergic to a snake but not to likely unless it's to a bite. You may have an allergy to the sustrate (dedding) the snake was kept in. But like the person above said snakes don't have dander like dos or cats so it's pretty unlikely it was a reaction to the snake. I have never heard of it and I have had snakes for years. My sisiter in law is allergic to a lot of things but not my Boa. Are you afraid of snakes, if so it could be a psychosomatic reaction.

When something unpleasant happens, it is natural to look for an explanation and a snake, being unusual, might seem like a reason. I would suggest that you seek medical advice, it may have been a migraine, but if she has had a blow to the head it could be more serious, since head injuries can often be signalled by eyes problems.

i own snakes and have never heard of that. it not the snake that she is alergic to it may be the chemicals that they use on the snake. ask the person who has them what they use on the snake. just treat her reaction. if it gets worse take to hospital

I've never heard of being allergic to snakes, since they don't have dander... It is fairly common to suffer allergic reactions (mild to severe) to a bite.

COULD BE SOME TYPE OF PARASITE THE SNAKE WAS CARRYING. ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS A WILD CAUGHT SNAKE. I WOULD TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR ASAP.
