This may not be such a silly thing. You can get a lot of information by looking at your poop. Hunters do it all the time. They can tell if the animal is healthy and what their diet consist of.
Tiny poop is a sign of sickness. You poop should be big and brown. If it is too hard, then you're dehydrated and you need to drink more liquids. If it's too soft then you may have an infection.

(I actually saw this in tiny font on the back of a baseball cap, and it prompted a 2 hour long discussion among almost everyone in the bar)
Don't be scared of a natural process and you just may learn something! Of course if this guy is a freak, then get a restraining order or something.

Ask him if he is into coprophilia, or if he is just fascinated by analysing fecal matter for chemical or biological composition. (The second is possible as you asked the question in the biology catagory, but I fear the former.)
