France played much better throughout thr match. Italy was virtually invisible in the 2nd half but I must gave their defense all the credit. It was exceptional! I think France deserved the win but Italy were great throughout the tournament. It was just unlucky to go to penalty kicks. PS. Don't be so harsh on trezeguet...........it's tremendous pressure!

France played better from the second half on, but there was no chance in the world they'd win at the penalties (Italian curse included), Barthez sucks so bad! Besides, Italy played better during the entire tournament, I never saw France shine, onlly Zidane.

i think the first hallf was poor and neither teams did well, but if i had to pick one i would say italy in the first, the second was better with both teams being a bit more adventurous and france edging it out, i dont think the italians ever looked better than average and after the break malouda henry and zidane got into the game more, im english so i know all about hard luck on penalties mate, lol i know far too much, i was gutted france didnt win, sad to see zidane in his last ever game too, i dont care what he did he is still the best player of my lifetime (too young too remember maradonna) and im sure you agree that we are all gonna miss him, and figo, two greats, two headbutts and two retirments. so to answer your question yeah, france did it

Yes, agree with you. But you can't blame Trezeguet! He and Barthez have so much pressure put on them, I think it's courageous of him to simply step up to take the kick. The Italians did a wonderful job on the shootout and it wasn't France's fault.

Siyu C is "Gay Guy 2006" he doesnt know shi* after the first half italy was just defending the only REAL reason France lost was because of the missed penalty form David.t or else italy would have lost.

I agree, Trezeguet is the new R. Baggio (remember Italy-Brazil final)...France played really well but PKs are part of the game...loosing Zidane didn't really help either..Barthez could have stopped at least one...

I think France was a little bit better than Italy. They seemed to have more control of the ball and more opportunities. However, it was Italy's day today.

Italy played much better! If it weren't for that penalty at the 7thmin. Italy would have kicked Frances A.s.s much earlier.
