I have heard that witch hazel works. I haven't tried it yet... But several of my friends swear by it. You can get it at a local drug store or walmart... (it has nothing to do with witches, or witch craft)... After you shave you are to rub it down there... it will prevent bumps and redness/itchiness...

Try this over the counter ointment called Bikini Zone it's usually found in the Health & Beauty Section with the hair removal stuff (i.e. wax, nair, etc.) You can find it any store that sells that type of stuff. I also used to get razor burn real bad, so I totally understand the pain you're referring to. Also, let's face it, it's not very attractive and it seems like as soon as the razor burn goes away then the hairs already back (talk about frustrating). But since I've found this stuff I haven't had any problems, talk about a miracle treatment. I usually put it on as soon as I remove the hair, then apply for at least a few days afterwards, a couple times a day. You can also try a depilatory cream called Surgi-Cream, it's the only one I can use that doesn't hurt or cause a rash/razor bumps, then follow-up with the Bikini Zone.

First, soak in the bath or shower for at least 7 minutes. Then exfoliate the area. Then use a high-quality razor and a shave OIL. Do not shave every day. You will get in-grown hairs, razor burn, etc. I recommend only shaving the sides, and maybe the top inch or so, and trimming the rest, so you just have a nice neat triangle and not a nasty mess that makes your skin look like raw hamburger

One cheap way is to use hair conditioner. Use a good shaver and shave often. (at least once a week) Your area will adapt and eventually the razor burn will no longer occur

Use a good shaving cream (bikini zone makes a nice bikini gel for shaving) and get some bikini zone cream for after shaving.

If you can afford it and aren't afraid of a few seconds of pain try waxing. No bumps, no razor rash.
