And all you get for answers are "That wouldn't happen"s? It's hypothetical. The whole purpose of the question is to see what decision you make on a scenario that would never happen. Just answer it. Comment as you wish.

But "what if" questions are pretty useless--you won't know how you will act unless faced with the situation.
Reference studies of "normal" people bullying and torturing other people given a simple situation. How can you say "I would never do that"?! You can't know.
It's bullsh*t.

Sometimes I think people are too quick to answer a question, and they don't give it the proper thought before answering it.

Here is a list of things that I do to make sure that I have given an appropriate answer:

1) I make sure I have read everything in the question and details.

2)Then, I write my post. I check for spelling and gramattical errors that would make it hard to understand me. I have been known to drop out a word or two here and there, and it totally fouls up the sentence. So I'm glad that I go back and check sometimes.

3) Then, I will re-read my answer to make sure that I actually answered the question. One time I got to this step and realized that I completely misunderstood the question, and I deleted my answer because I was so embarrassed. ;)

I just really think that people don't give the effort to show that they are a thinking human being, instead of a thoughtless human being. :)

Instead, some people just don't care, and they'll just say things like, "It won't work, that's why. Thanks for the 2 points!" Those people really ruin it when you're trying to get an answer to your question.

My currency is TIME...money an avenue toward more of it.Not at all.....I offered the same said in the hypothetical when raising my children...one is going to be a Psychologist...and the other an author who has made 3 movies. Proposing the hypothetical allows the formative mind to develop and gain confidence Early. I see it as all about Ethics. If you understand what another thinks their truest currency is..you KNOW what makes them tick.

Yeah, I hate that, but I also hate when it is in the philosophy section, and you still receive those stupid answers.
