I am a well educated person, and I do believe it should be legal. It is much like drinking, and there have been very few deaths associated with the side effects of the drug. If you think about how much people are purchasing it for now from other illegally (about $25-30 for a pack of cigarettes worth), you could tax it, and help to fund programs much like gambling, tobacco, and alcohol. The cost to grow and produce it is minimal, would provide honest jobs for people, and there is already a market available.
Much like tobacco or gambling, you make the choice to participate in the activity. Of course, the drug dealers would have to find real jobs or turn to other drugs that are harder to obtain. I choose not to participate in drugs now, and don't feel threatened by others that do. It is MY decision.

Yes, remember what led to the growth, expansion and development of gangsters and organized crime was the prohibition in 20s-30s of last century in border states. Why? because people is already into the habit and forbidden things are the most attractive.
Most of the crime related to drugs is NOT the one consumers do, but dealers'!!!
So one for sure thing: Tobacco and alcohol industry pay millions on bribes to politicians in Washington to keep their products legal, bur TRULY alcohol is responsible for more deaths in America than marijuana is!
So, please reflect on this.

Well I don't use it, but based on what I know about it I think it should be, but it should have the same kind of laws as alcohol...legal age, no driving under the influence, etc.

Should consenting adults be allowed to do what they wish with their own bodies in the privacy of their own home?
Or does our government nanny belong there too, telling us what to do at all times, day and night, when no one is seriously hurt?
