well iPods are only good because of their maintstream popularity, everyone knows that if you have an iPod, you'll have a problem every once in a while. If you wanna be cool, buy one.
If you wanna save about 200 dollars, buy a mp3 player. It has more memory and some ARE smaller than that stupid iPod nano. So stop wasting your money on useless crap when you can get somehting cheaper with more memory

It depends on how many songs you want to put in there! IPod videos surely are the best if you have more than 7500 songs and want to watch videos and do all kinds of things, but if you only have like, a thousand songs or less, don't waste you money on an IPod nano, you can get as much space with a few brands of MP3 players, which are cheeper. Don't waste your money on a name.

I know many advantages of iPods, but I cant find any from normal MP3 players~

if you are going for the cheap route, go for a regular mp3. many people with regular mp3's are perfectly happy with them. you are just going to have to research the brand/maker of the mp3, so you know it is of good quality. everyone has ipods because they have already been proved to have good quality. if you are looking to buy, www.cnet.com is the best place you can go. it will tell you the good and the bad of every electronic out there. good luck.

theyre the same thing... but i have an ipod and my friend has a mp3 and i like ipods better cause you dont have to store them on disks

they are the same thing.
but ipods are inferior. the batteries die after about 4-5 years and theres nothing you can do about it.
The best thing to get is a creative mp3 player, specifically the creative zen micro which has a removable battery so it can last forever as you just replace battery when it comes to end of its life.

Buy a Creative Zen Touch - 20gbs for less money than an iPod shuffle and ten times the capacity. It's a no-brainer!
