aquatic vegetation, commercial tadpole pellets/flakes... no iceburg lettuce but other greens would work... You can get pellets or anachris (floating plant) at most pet stores

They eat insects living in the water and micro organisms which they can see and ingest, but are not visible to the human eye. As they get larger, the may eat very small fry.
