I know the gravity of the moon causes tides, and I was wondering if it causes other phenomenon on earth.?

The moon causes ocean tides, but it also causes ground tides. This is to a much smaller degree, but some scientists feel that these earth tides may help trigger earthquakes.

Other than that, a lot of lifes cycles are based on the moon. A womans fertility cycle is lunar based. A large number of aquatic life also have lunar based life cycles. The moon may have originally enabled life to begin on the earth, and its stabilizing effects on the earth may have kept life possible.
