As an Italian Amercian I cheered for my nation of heritage. Though they barely won, they did indeed win. I was surprised at how much time the ball was spent on the Italian side. Even after the France's captian got booted for head butting an Italian player in the chest, this did not change things much. I was also surprised at how easy it seemed to score a penality kick. Those goalies have to be physic to block a kick these days. In fact the only block wasn't done by a goalie, but the goal itself. The last player to score, clentching it for the Italians had a cool look of confidence. In any case Italy won & I know they are absolutely going nuts over there. Italians are an emotional people in a good sort of way. I wish I could be there to see it.

I HATE ITALY!!!!!!! I HATE ITALy!!!!!!!!!!!
Like the commentator said -- 1st they broke German hearts (sob!) and now French hearts. B's!! I want to yell out a string of abuses but I don't want Y! to kick ME off!!!! Getting Zidane --the player of the DECADE sent off???!!
THOSE CHEATS!!!!!
It must have been something really bad or Zidane wouldn't have head-butted him and gone off and left his team --I didnt even see him come back for his medal!! Poor guy! What an end to an awesome career --He was -(I still want to say 'is')- untouchable. Not 1 foul the whole World Cup. What a guy!!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THE DRESSING ROOM? Why didn't he come back?
That italian guy should be bashed up! I can't stand these young upstarts who try to upstage legends. Italian Pipsqueak!
Zidane- has his own song, a player with charisma, was supposed to get 'The golden ball' award, supposed to have a movie made after him --and now??? So sad how life has a way that 1 moment can change your whole life. I want to believe that there are 2nd chances, but I just don't know what to think now. When France won against Portugal, all of them were jumping around like lunatics, thrusting around probably worse than Shakira!- but Zidane, such a gentleman to the end, stood his ground, smiling, hugging people. Zidane.. Zezou.. Zezou zeZou ZeZou..la ..la.. I'll sing your song to the end.. zezou... Zezou-Zezou ZEzou.....ZeZOU

I am a great fan of Brazil, but my second favorite team is always Italy. They played good football over so many years, and still play.
France however has not that much history in football, and their players are not that good as Italy's. And yes, I don't like France :)
The overall game of Italy was better and I can say just ... they deserver the cup 100%!

I watched it. Good game. Sad ending for Zidane - what did the other player say to him that provoked that kind of behaviour.
