I read from another forum that the Italian Materazzi appeared to pinch and twist Zidannes nipple as he let go of him in the penalty area, Zidannes first reaction was shock and when he realised what had happened I think he lost his temper. Watch the replay carefully he twisted his hand as he let go.

WATCH WHAT MATERAZZI DOES TO ZIDANE IN THE BEGINNING... Looks like he pinches Zidane's nipple at one point (Zidane reacts to the pinch). Materazzi even pretends to look away. Then Zidane says something, and Materazzi replies twice. Unfortunately, Zidane did not rise above Materazzi's low tactics. Let this be a lesson that "losing it" is definitely NOT worth it in the end. But everyone has their limits, Zidane, you, and I.

Zidane may react poorly when he is pushed past his limit, but he wouldn't do the sorts of things Mazzeratti does. I can't wait to hear from Zidane about what happened. I will believe Zidane more than Materazzi any day of the week.

It must have been something really bad or Zidane wouldn't have head-butted him and gone off and left his team --I didnt even see him come back for his medal!! Poor guy! What an end to an awesome career --He was -(I still want to say 'is')- untouchable. Not 1 foul the whole World Cup. What a guy!!

Zidane- has his own song, a player with charisma, was supposed to get 'The golden ball' award, supposed to have a movie made after him --and now??? So sad how life has a way that 1 moment can change your whole life. I want to believe that there are 2nd chances, but I just don't know what to think now. Yes, I saw that when it happened, and I couldn't believe it that all the announcers during the game, as well as radio personalities this morning, seemed to have no idea that it had happened. They were calling Zidane's head-butt "vicious" but come on, he was pinched in the nipple -- obviously an intentional provocation.

I agree with the person above. Zidane's attitude after the Portugal game was great, he was wearing a Portuguese jersey in sign of respect!!! what a great man!!!

Ewww- I hope not. . . . .'cause I'm not a fan of Zidane anyways, and that would really disappoint and make me sick if Materazzi did that. . . . .I hope it's not true! I just saw him grabbing at him when they were defending each other.

ya it looked like pinching . but i don't think it was the cause for that action . maybe it was insulting .
