I think it is because they cant trust us people and I think they think they gonna date someone thats a gold digger!!!

That is probably true for some. Others though, they don't have a lot of chance to be around everyday people...like musicians for example. If you're on the road most of the time, you don't have a chance to meet regular people. You're only around people in your industry. Then there are those that like to be in the spotlight and dating someone famous is more interesting I guess to the press.

Mainly because being a "celebrity" is a very MAJOR thing to have in common with someone else. Also, they do sometimes marry us "normies". Britney Spears married a working class man and Paul McCartney's recent wife was not a celebrity (in fact, neither was Linda McCartney). When celebrities marry common folk, it doesn't get the same press coverage so we just don't hear about it as often as the media circus that surrounds a celebrity marriage.

Celebrities sometimes do date "regular ordinary people," but then their dates aren't "regular & ordinary" due to their new celebrity status.
Didn't Elizabeth Taylor make news by marrying a construction worker?
What about Madonna when she got involved with some restaurant guy?
I'm sure there are other examples...

My best answer would be that we often view celebrities as people who are out of our reach and either beautiful or extremely perfect. Therefore, we often have a hard time believing that they are real people just like everyone else and that they are only characters in our eyes. Also we often see that celebrities date other celebrities and in my opinion this occurs because they are surrounded by people in the same profession. It will occur that once in a while they date "Normal People".

I am sure that some do date regular people but it must be hard to find a person who is not into them just for fame and fortune. Plus how are you supposed to meet anyone if you get mobbed the minute you are out in public.

I don't think they have the time, a celebritie's life is SO busy that they don't have time to worry about a normal person's scedule..if they date other celebrites then they would understand why they do stuff

most people in general date people of their own stature.... make the same money they do, hang out in the same places they do, work in the same places they do..... makes things easy to find common things to talk about on a date...
