Communism itself is not inherently evil or offensive. The concept that communism is evil or simply a bad system is due largely to Cold War propaganda, along with a few Communist leaders that abused their position.

Communism as defined by Karl Marx has never yet been achieved anywhere on earth. So far, all revolutions of the working class have been co-opted by politicians and used to establish authoritarian, autocratic regimes. The failure of these regimes in no way demonstrates the superiority of capitalism to communism. Like the authoritarian regimes in China, Cuba, N. Korea and the USSR, Capitalism is a corrupt and exploitative system that must be replaced with something better if human society is to survive and make progress into the future. True Communism is, as described by Marx, much more democratic than any current human government.

Communism gets treated as a bad thing because of the corrupted way it was used in the Soviet Union, N. Korea, China, etc. Communism in its pure, uncorrupted form is actually not such a bad thing. The problem is that there are too many selfish, power hungry people around.

Self-government is at the heart of a democratic system. I can't imagine any other system that would work well with such a large population.

The good in capitalism far out weighs the bad. I would much rather depend on myself to live, rather than depend on the government to provide for me. Communism only works on a small scale. There are plenty of communes in the United States that live off of the work of the whole. Maybe you should check them out if you are thinking communism is better. Good luck!

The russia stepped down from communism. During the 1960's the US had a communism conspiracy which frightened everyone. It has been broadcasted in a way we feel communism the same as we fear atom bomb. We were trained in a way to be frightened by the communism because communism will eat us in the middle of the sleep at night!

Communism doesn't work. Capitalism isn't great, but communism is worse. Looked at the former USSR. It ruined Eastern Europe. Communism isn't a government, really, anyway. It's an economic system.

Communism is not in practice on a large scale anywhere in the world. The governments we have been taught to call "communist," like China, are actually totalitarian oligarchies and differ from the U.S. only in the degree of control they exert over the population, and the degree to which they control their markets. Many people have merely been conditioned to call repressive foreign regimes "communist."

Because Communism is bad, you have to swear allegiance to the Dictator whether ya like him or not in order to be allowed to eat.

Only 1 name on the Ballot for Offices (the Democrats would just love this very much because they would have no Republican competitors that people like me vote for).

If you have ever lived in a Communist country--USSR, Soviet Bloc, Cuba, or China--you wouldn't need to ask such a question.
