No, much like John Kennedy and Kurt Cobain it is still an unsolved mystery. Her case was never reopened anyways so it is still said that she died from an "overdose of sleeping pills." Me personally, I'm doubtful about what really happened.

Marilyn's body simple gave up on her. Marilyn had innudated her body with barbituates for an extensive time. She was infact a addict. She also suffered from severe depression which suppressed her immune system. With all that was going on with her she swallowed enough barbituates to slow her heart to the point of it quietly stop. Marilyn killed herself but it was an accident. If you were to ask her anytime before she would have probably said that she wanted to die. Basically Marilyn was dead long before she actually died. I love her and I know she was hurting, a self-infflicted pain that she could not escape.
She was infact a candle in the wind. (E.J.)

No i don't think she died of an overdose, although it was her official cause of her death. She was having an affair with John F. Kennedy, the current president of that time. The government found out about Marilyn and John's relationship and believed it would ruin the presidents reputation. So they hired someone to kill Marilyn. But this is one of many theories of which none have been proved.

Nobody will be allowed to know the truth what happened to that poor lady their were to many important people involved and they are immune from justice, can I congratulate Claire S for her research makes a nice change to see people sticking up for Marilyn instead of just calling her a slag because of who was involved

No i don't think they did or ever will there was to many cover ups. I don't think we will ever know the truth there cant be many people around know that can shed any light on what really happened, if there is they will be frightened to say anything. Same as will happen with the late Princess Diane

Yes, but the government will keep that info from everyone, for goodness sake she was part of both kennedys brothers lives and knew secrets of them both also she was a threat to the government, everyone knows she was murdered even if she took barbituates, she was a loose cannon.

juju - given that she was abandoned by a mentally ill mother, and raped at the age of 9, then married off by foster parents at 16, I hardly think you can say her pain was self-inflicted.

In answer to the question, there are some very good documentaries on this topic, including the Final Days Documentary - try amazon.

Unfortunately they have not. There are a lot of theories but no answers. It is a mystery that never will be solved much like the JFK assassination

I think officially the verdict was an overdose. I don't think that there has been conclusive proof that anyone else was involved. Doesn't mean that there wasn't any other involvement though.
