I am making a restauant review web page and I want users to be able to be able to select a country then a region and then finaly a town to get information about. It's going to be programed in PHP & MySQL, I know how the code will work but I have no idea how to get a complete list of all the towns / villages in the world and which region / country they are in! Any ideas?

There is a type of book (remember book?) available at bookshops and libraries (that's where you can read books for free). This book is clled an ATLAS. Try it.

Even the most comprehensive atlas in the world could miss small towns.

Your best bet would be to list major cities and towns, and give the option of other and allow the person to type in the name of the town.

On top of this, you could then store those "other" entries so that they show up in the original list for other people to select. That way, you have the users of your site also building the list of towns.
