Only the ones who actually use the magazines advice to work out all of their problems. I love Cosmo, but I know that not every man who "smirks to his left" (example lol) means that he wants to lead you on--- And the thing that is starting to get on my nerves about Cosmo is they act like it is okay for women to act sort of slutty....But, for some reason we all want to read the sex columns... I quit buying Cosmo because I am way into reading Glamour now, because how many diff sex tips can be written about?! Cosmo has been on stands forever--they always give the same sex advice, lol. Cosmo is a good read bottom line, but most of us women are smart enough to take things light heartedly and not believe every word.

Yes, but the media in general (newspapers, commercials, some books, magazines, etc., etc, etc.) do.
No question. We are a "brainwashed society" in general.
Those that are not, are "non-conformist" with minds, and opinions of our own.
Those of us who are NOT brainwashed do not have to be told what is "right, wrong, good, bad, cute, cool, etc., etc.,"...we know what we know, and that is what matters!!!
And one more thing...the "issue" that Cosmo brings up @100% of the time is sex-- and girls if you have to read about it, and study it...you ain't got the right chemistry with the right partner... 'cause the last partner I had--we didn't need a thing except the two of us.
I definitely do miss that part of the relationship, but the rest was "crappy", and I like myself too much to settle...so...oh well, maybe one day, I can have both!!!
I sure hope so.
In the meantime, if you want to really live, be free, like AND love yourself----THINK FOR YOURSELF GIRLS, AND GUYS!!!!!

Cosmo is a reflection of what is popular and trendy. I don't think it's capable of brainwashing, as it is fluff. However, it can help perpetuate the feelings of not being pretty, thin, rich, cool, or sexy enough. It doesn't so much celebrate women as try to tear them down so they will strive to reach the "standard" of beauty and fashion.
I don't know many women who can drop 10,000 for an outfit. Excuse me, did I say many? I meant any. None. Models and actresses can, but we don't know them....
