Hostas are generally very hardy, but they transplant best in the spring and fall. You might do better by checking the classifieds in your local paper or the free column on Craig's List. Many people divide their hostas and want to give them away rather than throwing them out. If you volunteer to do that chore in exchange for the divisions, I bet you'll have lots of offers and you'll have the pick of many interesting types of Hostas..

Wayside Gardens in North Carolina has a website as well as a great catalogue. They may be more expensive than other places. However, I've been ordering from them for 30 years and never been disappointed. They have a good selection of hostas too.
