The law differs from state to state. In Michigan any interior light on while driving is illegal and the neon lights that people put under there cars are also illegal. The only lights that are legal are headlights, yellow running lights and red rear lights except when you brake then they are white in the rear of the car. Any deviation from this rule will get you ticketed.

actually, all neon lights are porhibited from the exterior of a vehicle, now the interior you can fill the thing with neon gas and then electricute it if you want! hmmm... thats a good idea....

UK law stands like this - You are ONLY allowed white neons at the front and red at the back. You could fit any colour you like so long as they are for off road use only....I'd say anywhere the police are NOT is off road, as far as neons are concerned......

who cares about legal or not. neon lights are a joke nowadays. so go ahead if you want to make your car all fake fast and furious. a good idea if you want to become the laughing stock.
