Although it was done with a synth, the bass line in "Head Like a Hole" by NIN is bad @ss, especially if you throw from phat effects on it. Also you can't deny the catchiness of Limp Bizkit's "Rearranged" or the exoticness of Tool's "46 and 2". If you want to hear a bass just being abused and keep screaming for more, check out the Japanese band Dir En Grey and listen to Toshiya just pwn the heck out of his instrument.
