Superman is an alien, come down to Earth trying to dictate his ideals with brute force.
He also attracts many other such beings who tend to come after him and bring strife and more problems to the people of Earth than had Superman not even come down in the first place.

no, hes a victim of globalization of the cinema industry. you can't sell american films overseas to countries who hate us if they have all the flag-waving that they did in the 80's.
