It's in the Wedding Singer. He writes it (as Robbie Hart) when he's going to Vegas to stop Drew Barrymore (Julia) from marrying a jerk. Earlier in the movie Drew Barrymore had told him that she always saw being in love as being able to grow old with someone or something. He then sings it to her in the end of the movie and wins her heart.

He fell in love with someone who he would let do anything like "hold the remote control". It's about finding the one person you want to grow old with. Did you ever see the movie Wedding Singer? He sings it in end on the plane to win her over.
