There are some things you can do to help. Make sure the detergent(s) you are using do not contain Lanolin.
In any event, wear gloves. Don't jam your fingers in either, start them from inside out and roll the glove over your fingers.
Use anything but your nails as tools...use a car key to open a can of soda. Use the edge of your index finger, instead of your fingertips, to lift a door handle.
The most important is saved for last. Go to a good, established, reputable nail tech who cares about having you as a repeat customer. Most Mall salons could care less about you, or the health/condition of your nails once you pay and leave.

I wear fake nails all the time. Just get a pair of plastic cleaning gloves. Mine last way past the 2 weeks that they recommend and I wash dishes at least 3 times a day or more.....

Get good heavy duty gloves...and wash your hands thoroughly after you're done washing the dishes..make sure your nails are dried well.

why would you want fake nails when you wash dishes all day, wash dishes all night & you won't have to even think about your fake nails.

if you wear fake nails alot you can try to get a dishwasher if u cant wear gloves

well, i like using gloves. not only do they protect your manicure form the harsh detergents, they also ensure your hands are unneccesarily exposed to water and detergents!
