I haven't heard any racial slurs during the World Cup against Italians but I'm pretty sure that they've used racial slurs often against African players. Maybe not during the world cup but definitely in their own football league.

Well, because the italian team did neither play beautiful nor fair. Everybody knows they do not deserve the title. But as we cannot change it some people overreact a little.
It's not against the Italians, it's against their team.
My family comes from Italy, I have an italian name. And I hate that team.

Racists existed before the World Cup so they are probably using it as an excuse to vent their frustrations - don't take it personal I say - be proud of your heritage (if you're Italian).
