I live near Roswell, and yes, the citizens of Roswell have made a good living out of the story. If you believe that we are the only species in all the Universe, then the official explanation of the incident is a valid conclusion.
If however, you can assume that in the Universe there are other planets capable of supporting life, then the crash of an "alien craft" has some plausibility. Simple odds would state that sooner or later an unexpected accident would occur. The government of any nation that discovers such a technological gold mine, would indeed do it's best to hide that treasure from eyes it considers not worthy. This might include discrediting the original story and any so-called truths that came afterward. It is safe to say some government secrets will die with those who keep them. It is worthy to note that this incident occurred shortly after mankind first started to delve into atomic energy.

You're right, it wouldn't. It would be great if everyone demanded to know the truth IF there was any reason to think it hasn't already been produced. And there isn't any credible evidence to support such a story, altho' the community of Roswell has made a pretty nice living on all the legend and resulting tourism.
A good book on the subject is Alien Intrusion, by Gary Bates.
It gives a more realistic explanation of what the UFO phenomenon really is, rather than the highly unlikely, fantastic and impossible scenario that UFO's are little green men from other planets.

the weather balloon was CIA bulshit
the debris described originally was completely different
there was a massive cover up
so it looks like the crash was real
and then was turned into a hoax by the government
as so many things have been.
extraterrestrial any thing has always been fanatically opposed and the possibility of this reality is never believed by Christians
have you ever wandered why
it is because within their mind control are keys which instruct to disbelieve this alternative reality
because the truth would reveal where the direction really is hidden, and when it is discovered ,much of the controlling power is lost
this the Illuminati cannot afford to let happen.

they might huff and puff if it were an alien area craft they had to save secret. Please teach a link to a document the position they huff and puff. they might also deny it if were not an alien spacecraft. extreme nationwide protection will be led to for countless motives. "To this present day the USAF huffs and puffs to describe away any indication the crashed craft become of alien starting place.would the Air pressure do this if it become only a climate balloon?" What a stupid question. they purely might want to describe it away because people first propose it become an alien spacecraft. they did not say, without delay, "there become an plane crash close to Roswell the day earlier on the on the spot, and by using ways, it wasn't an alien spacecraft." i'm completely prepared for it to be alien, yet interior the absence of any evidence, that is in simple terms maximum not likely.

People, do some research before answering questions. It was not a weather balloon. Weather balloons aren't anywhere near big enough to give that much debris. The "aliens" were NOT test dummies for their balloon expiriments. The expiriments with dummies didn't happen until SEVEN YEARS after the supposed crash. I'm not saying I believe that little green men crash landed there. I think it was a different government project that hasn't been released to the public yet. If aliens were to come to earth, they clearly wouldn't be stupid enough to build something that can't fly in our atmosphere or handel adverse conditions.

Get real! Do you honestly believe that such a momentous event could be kept secret for 60 days never mind 60 years? The politicians and the 'leakers' would be lined up at the phones trying to call the media.

It's probably completely futile to try to convince
believers that there was no alien spacecraft crash
at Roswell. They want to believe it, and they will
regardless of evidence. Even if there are aliens, in the traditional sense living somewhere in the
universe the probability of their ever showing up
here is negligible.
There was a government coverup, certainly,
but not of a crashed spacecraft. It was not a
weather balloon, but a technological device that
was being kept secret because of the cold war.

I don't know if I believe it happened, but it's odd that everything was kept so secretive. The thing is,we will probably never know for sure.Unless they come back and tell us themselves. But,that might be why there's so much talk about living in space and such, because someone knows someone else is doing it...

Although the evidence clearly shows that it was a weather balloon, conspiracy theorist will never stop making up UFO stories about Roswell.

It was real. My Grandpa was in the CIA and friends with a couple people involved with the investigation. One of his friends (a high ranking military officer) actually saw a corpse of one of the aliens.
