In some sad way, it makes them feel good that they can look down upon someone else. They feel superior to not feel insecure. Over time most will realize that it is wrong, but the few that don't are the ones that are very insecure about themselves.

Probably low self esteem and weakness of character. Some men take out their own insecurities on women for some reason.

Anyone who has to make fun of other people for what ever reason.. they themself have LOW self esteem and need to put others down to make themselves feel better. Never listen to them.. they are the losers.. not you.
