I do not think i was bit by anything and i didn't injure it, any suggestions as to what is up? Not wasting money going to the doctors for something that could be minor.

If it's hot,red and swollen it could be a localised infection called cellulitus which may resolve alone but can often require antibiotics. Give it till morning then seek attention if getting worse not better.

You might have done something and unaware of it. You could have been bitten by something very small and didn't' feel the bite. Don't be deceived - it's never a waste of money when you are concerned about something that has occurred in your body and you can't explain it. Could be a nerve, could be tendinitis,(do you use your hands regularly for your job?) Go to the doctor - it might not be anything, but you'll feel better if you know. (most insurance plans have a co-pay - does yours?)

It could just be fluid from poor circulation. If you layed,or slept on it this could be the problem. Also is you have spent a long time on the computer typing or writing that may be it too. This happened to me about a week ago. I held my wrist with the opposite hand and opened and closed the swollen hand repeatedly and it was fine in no time. Try this and see if it works. If not also try an ice pack.

If you do a lot of typing it could be tendonitis (sp) it can swell up and hurt slightly. You'll have to have a dr. look at it and they will suggest that you go and get a shot of Cortozone (sp). BUT do not get more than one shot in 1-2 years for it can damage your heart.
