Zidane is a fantastic player and sportsman. I cannot condone what was done. I cannot believe someone with his experience reacted like that. It is not like him at all to something that would potentially cost his side the WC.. But I will say that although to us it did not look like much, something bad, something very very offencive must have been said to him to have gotten under his skin so much to cause this incident. I don't know, I am simply stuck for words. And can I just add Congratulations to Italy and Congratulations to France for a wonderful and brilliant performance. There were no losers, not at all. Well done to both.

I am still shocked. i can't believe what I saw. Can someone wake me up PLEASE!?! Zizou is easily one of the top 5 players all time. And everyone knows that he is VERY, VERY calm. As a matter of fact he is known for his sense of humor. When people saw that play, they shouldn't have even wondered for a second "what a bad act"... instead the first thing that came to my mind was "what could have made sucha classy, calm, reserved leader do something like this, something that he has not done in the past 15+ years of his career." It must have been something like a remark about his mother or perhaps even worse. The Italians were noted by critics, former players, and even fans as the dirtiest "actors" in this world cup. They definitely proved that true by the way they acted after the last penalty. They set up a barbershp on the field, they started changing clothes ON THE FIELD.... past world cups the players would at least do it at the benches, and they were just simply put, acting like animals. I used to be the biggest Azzuri fan until I saw how they were playing this World Cup. I wish that the Italian Serie A scandal investigations follow through and the players will receive their consequences. Zizou, We Love You!

I wanted Italy to win, but when Zidane ended his career like that, I was just speechless. I think it was a bad call. The referees probably didn't even see it happen. They probably just saw the replay and had said "Oh, Zidane headbutt an Italian." *pulls out a red card*
I feel bad for that great French player Zinedine Zidane.

Feel sorry for a guy who gratuitously head butts an opponent during a stoppage of play? Never. His choice to end his career mugging an opponent like some Marseilles street guy instead of going out with class.

Zidane remains one of the best players ever. Loosing his temper in a world cup final is not unusual...I would rather go out with a red card than fake a dive and get a PK for it....

He's still really cool and he did awesome.
I feel bad that he couldn't be out there with his team though! Man, this performance really solidified that the Italians are dirty soccer players.

He was being provoked by a racist's remark. What would you do if someone insult your mother, your wife, your religion and your nationality?????? He is only human.
In spite of his lost of control, I still think he is the GREATEST football player.
