Rillifane - since you chose not to elaborate why not I am going to guess that you do not have the intellectual capacity to articulate the reasons you disagree with my analysis

Rillifane - you are completely wrong again. There is a difference in the profit a shareholders makes and the profit a c.e.o makes. They are the ones rich enough and powerful enough to buy lobbyists not just an average shareholder you moron

Got news for you.....the corporate interest have owned this government for a lot longer than you realize. They took over long ago, and now work to keep us at each other's throats, or ignorant via their media empires to keep the status quo. People are either too disgusted to care, or are focusing on the wrong "enemy". Liberals aren't the enemy....Conservatives aren't the enemy....christians aren't the enemy.....athiest aren't the enemy.

Corporate-dominated government is.

Read Rillifane's answer (first one) and then read it again. After you've read it twice read it a third time. If you're still confused after that look into how capitalism works and understand American corporations drive the economy, provide the jobs and create the wealth we enjoy. Even so, no one in a corporation or any stock holder gets more than one vote.

The feed money to the system and that will always hold some influence but not as much influence as the voters.

No and no.

To begin with its difficult to distinguish between corporate interests and people's interests. How does, for example, one separate the interests of General Motors from the interests of its 68,000.000+ shareholders, its 30,000 suppliers or its 335,000 direct employees?

Corporations, for the most part, are not owned by a tiny handful of rich people but by tens of millions of perfectly ordinary Americans. If you factor in pension funds and mutual funds then the overwhelming majority of adult Americans own corporate stock and/or bonds.

Secondly, even if "corporate interests" ran the government that would not be fascism. I suggest you take the time to actually learn what fascism is before you embarrass yourself further by betraying your abysmal ignorance.

NB:CEOs don't "make profits" they earn salaries.

So what you are saying is, yes, they are. I agree that corporate lobbyists hold more sway over politicians than the people, but that is only because the people are too lazy to speak out when they disagree. And I don't consider rambling on Answers as speaking out. If this country were actual Fascist, we wouldn't have the right as citizens to speak out against the government at all. I say people need to stop bitching and do something about it.

You are very correct;however, your question seem slanted. One has to understand that government is controlled by the 10% that actual partake in the system, simply voting is not enough.

If I replace your "cooperate and religious nuts" with "special interest groups" your observation becomes unbiased and completely correct. (environmentalists, unions etc)

This has been fact since Thomas Jefferson's fight against the banking corporations who were bribing and funding politics in this country's infancy.

Of course corporate interests have more say, they buy access to elected officials.

Call you Senator and ask to meet him or her and see what happens?

And yes it is fascism when goverment and corporations are in bed with each other and neither cares what the people think.
