That goes along with tenses (verb tenses, that is). Almost on a regular basis I hear people speak (or read people's writing) either "I should have did," or "I shouldn't have ate," or "I should have went," and that hurts the ears and eyes to us English majors. (I was not an English major but communications to be a writer -- same thing. Now, I teach English.) English, like a good many other things, has gone downhill. If you don't believe (here comes the politics, forgive me) that illegal immigration doesn't help, think again!

I believe alot of people just don't pay attention.. I know if I am in a chat room or doing a quick email. I sometimes will interchange them.. Its kind of like which witch is which. It's a very common mistake. hmmm.. did I just use the right 'its'. Anyway I've seen just as many 'older' people make the same mistake as 'young people'

It is the same thing that drives me nuts as when people misuse its and it's. It makes people look stupid when they misuse words. Were they not paying attention in English class during grammar lessons?

I know this is difficult to accept, but young people these days are, well, mentally challenged. If it were otherwise, they could sort out which one to use; they can't, and so they must have some mental insufficiency. Q.E.D. (*wicked snicker*)

Prideful ignorance I would say. Some people seem like stubborn asses when it comes to literacy and learning; they refuse to learn. I don't get it. Is it cool to be ignorant?

I didn't think it was. but apparently there are a lot of students who didn't listen in their English classes, and they're ignorant because of not listening and learning.

OMG. That is one of my pet peeves. That & "internet spelling". Is is really that much harder to type "what" instead of "wot"? I can't stand it!
