I am applying for my MBA; however, I am going to apply to a few school. Is it normal to have the professor write one and give it to me so I can make copies and send it out to the schools I am applying for?

Normally they send it dirctly to the school that you ask them to send it to. To save time ask him to wirte one as part of your resume.

No. Usually the professor is required to submit recommendations directly. In other instances, the professor's recommendation can be handed to you; but must be sealed in a way that it would be evident if you tampered with it. A common method of doing this is by having the professor sign his name across the envolope flap.
You need to ask your professor to make the copies. I know it sounds as if you may be troubling them, but believe me the harder part is writing the recommendation -- not pressing the print three copies instead of just button.

The professor will usually send it to the schools that you are applying to, but if you ask for a copy, they might give you one. GOod luck!

It depends really. Sometimes institutions require that they be mailed by the professor and other times the professors choose to do this on their own. Or as in your case, professors don't mind handing right over to you to send it out yourself. Either way, good luck with MBA school! :)

When I applied for graduate school I gave two of my undergrad profs a list with the school addresses. They wrote letters for each school, just changing the address in the letterhead, and gave them to me. They placed each letter in an envelope, and then signed the envelopes across the seal.

I think it is worthwhile to get an actual signature on your letter of recommendation and on the envelope. It gives your application that much more credibility.

Good Luck!

some prof. will give it to you but some prefer to mail it to them so ask if they will give it to you or how they are going to handle it.
