Just take one step at a time....the most important aspect is for you to get comfortable in the car that you are driving...so try to drive the same car each time.
Also, practice where there are no cars around by driving between cones or even garbage cans so that you can begin to "feel" where the car is on the road.
Then start on side streets without traffic and work your way up slowly to more traffic...practice turns, braking and accelerating over and over again...until it is like second nature to you.
You do not have to learn everything in a day...remember, so much of driving is just understanding how the car works and where you are in lane placement.
"Aim high in steering" you will do great!

Your fear is just an acknowledgement of the gravity of your actions. Driving is a major responsibility, and you should take it seriously. Just remember, having the courage to overcome your fears will be a life skill that you will be grateful for acquiring. There are many more times in your future that will be scary, but learning how to move forward in spite of your fear will make you a stronger and better human. Take it slowly, practice driving in parking lots, then graduate to running short errands. You can do it.

I'm only 13, but ny best friend is 15, and she just got her driver's permit. She was sooooooo terrified to drive, that she wouldn't even drive the lawn tractor. But, she just went to the driving school and got behind the wheel. She had a really nice (and cute) teacher person with her. I'd say just go for it, but yet again, I'm only 13.

I feel the same way and I'm going to be 18 in december. My boyfriend said he's going to make me get over my fear. He's helped me with some of my other fears, it might work. So find a trusting friend and maybe they can help you.

believe it or not, everyone goes through the same experiences and fears. the key is to practice and then u'll be thinking, "how did get along for so long without driving?"

most people are just not use to driving and are worried something may happen when they first start out. you just need to keep practicing and soon driving will be a second nature.
