Hi Josh,
No there is nothing wrong with you -- you are completely fine. *hug*
Two things in particular I'm going to point to. A number of major studies have been done of animals. All the species studied had homosexual behavior -- and all the species that had pair bonds at all had homosexual pair bonding TO THE EXCLUSION OF MATING WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX IN HEAT. Explain how that is even possible as a choice for animals? (the best book in this particular field is probably Dr. Bruce Bagemihl's book "Biological Exuberance" from St. Martin's Press -- from its bibliography you can find many others, and you can easily find other studies that look at the same phenomena.)
2nd -- the Fruit-fly study. The results for fruit-flies can't be denied (link below). People are trying to say that just because it applies to fruit-flies it doesn't have to to people. Alright, while I accept that the genetic mechanism is much more complex among humans -- why on earth would something like homosexuality be completely genetic in simple species and not genetic at all in the most complex species? It makes no sense, particularly given that no gay person I know EVER remembers being attracted to a female. Bisexuals are attracted to both. Gays are only attracted to same sex. So -- how is that a choice? Isn't it just the opposite of what straight people feel? An inborn automatic response. Period.
Standing against science, common sense, and logic -- you have a bronze age book that people keep telling each other is divine, but which says the earth has corners (Isaiah 11:12), sits on pillars (I Samuel 2:8), and is on top of the water (Psalms 24:1-2). The book says beetles have 4 legs not 6 (Leviticus 11: 21-23) and states that rabbits chew cuds (which they do NOT) (Deuteronomy 14:7). Given that choice, despite the emotional benefits that I'm sure some people gain from believing that the bronze age book is correct on this, just like it is on the corners -- I'll go with the logic, science and common sense.
Regards,

There is nothing wrong with being gay. 35 years of well defined research has proved that there is no link between homosexuality and mental disorders. In 1972, the American Psychological Association removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders (see attached).
Modern science is now uncovering potential biological factors influencing sexual orientation - a recent article on the BBC News site (see attached) has looked at the environment in the womb prior to birth.
In addition, homosexuality has been found to be fairly constant (roughly 5%) in all cultures and different points in time. This wipes out the popular myth that homosexuality is caused by "defensive detachment from same sex parent". During World War 2, one would have expected an increase in homosexuality when boys were seperated from their fathers, but this didn't happen.
The religious far right claims that "homosexuality is a choice" can be wiped out by the simple fact that why would anyone choose a lifestyle which is hated? Also, what about the gays who try unsuccessfully to become straight through ex-gay ministries?
Another thing to remember is that religion is man made. No matter how perfect God's words are; the person listening to them and reporting them to others won't be perfect. God could say "I feel sorry for homosexuals" - and a progay person would interpret this as God being upset at homophobia, and an antigay person would interpret this as God being angry with homosexuals.

I truly believe that being gay is decided at birth. Some of the most important and influential people in history were gay.
Diversity is the essence of life. As you get older you will understand that the only thing that truly matters is that you are happy and are loved by someone. Some of the strongest and most powerful relationships I have witnessed were between gay friends of mine.
People need to stop asking whether or not being gay is wrong. When the undeniable genetic proof finally comes, and will come in the near future, all those people who regularly discriminate against gay people will be judged.
You will find the perfect person to be with whomever he may be. Believe it or not, those people filled with negativity and hatred and pseudo religious rhetoric will be so jealous that you have two things they will never have or even understand; true love and tolerance.

No. It actually means you are extra special :D. If you believe in God, then maybe he chose you to be gay so that you could be humbled in many ways because of the discrimination that you will face. You will then go on to help soo many others because of your wisdom. But if you don't believe in God, then you are just cool!!! Being gay is the it-thing!!! You always have true friends and if something happens, you can just say, " Oh sorry, It's cuz Im gay, you understand, right?" and then it's all good.:D

Sergio D get out of the gay/lesbian/transgender answers if you are only here to tell us how bad our homosexuality acts are. The fact that we are open to all love no matter what kind just shows how much compassion and heart we have and that YOU have zero! All you think about is what is going on in the bedroom when that is none of your concern.. When I think of straight people do I automatically think "missionary"? no I dont.. I think of LOVE not sex.. Get your mind out of the gutter!!

That's something only you can answer. And...it'll suck for awhile till you do have an answer, but no one here can tell you that. People can share their views (I had to struggle awhile to know that there's nothing wrong with me, but that is my current view), one way or another, but religiously speaking it's between you and God and no one else. Medically speaking, there's nothing wrong with being gay.

I don't know, is there? Just because you are gay doesn't mean that something is wrong with you. Just like being Christian doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you, contrary to their actions on this board.

Absolutely not, it's just a part of who you are.
Well, there may be something wrong with you (I have no idea if, for example, you have a broken foot or leprosy or something), but there's nothing wrong with being gay.
