If you ask the critics and check the top 250 lists for the greatest movies of all time the godfather places higher then any of them.It came in #2 tied with Godfather 2 behind Casblanca on tv guides greatest movies ever made, it was voted #1 on imdb.com. My favorite gangster movie is City if god.

Breathless, Goodfellas, The Godfather Trilogy, Casino, City of God, Paid in Full, Scarface. There are others, but those are my favorites that immediately come to mind.

goodfellas, it shows a realistic insiders perspective and doesn't glorify the life. but scarface is awesome too
