I am looking for movies such as Capote, Brokeback Mountain, An Inconvenient Truth, A Prarie Home Companion, March of the Penguins, etc.

March of the penguins was good,my favorite was munich even though it did get oscar recognation it wasn't huge in the box office.

Capote and Brokeback I thought were Excellent. I also enjoyed The Constant Gardener.

a prarie home companion is the only one i saw, but it was funny even though it doesnt have a plot

All of those movies were popular. Why ask what someone's favorite is if you are looking for something YOU want?
I liked Aeon Flux. It was the best adaptation of it's sort I'd seen in a while, and minimally cheesy.
