I found a leak in my basement that was dripping down into my closet. There were all kinds of things stored in there so I never saw the leak which was behind the wall. Anyway, when I moved and cleaned out the closet, there was a HUGE black splotch on the wall. Thick Black Mold. Nasty. I put on a face mask and grabbed a bucket of bleach water and a sponge. I was able to clean it all up, and it looked like there was never any mold, but I got VERY sick in the next week. Some kind of lung infection. So, if I have any good advice, it would be to call a professional clean up company. And I don't mean a cleaning service. :) Good luck and don't inhale any of that Black mold. Stay out of the room and wear a mask if you have to go near it. Good luck.

Are you referring to mold on the walls due to dampness? If so, clean the wall with bleach water. It does help.
