Or should we simply assume that people who are born and raised in ghetto often stay in ghetto mentality even if they are given wealth and fame?
Denis Rodman or some rap musicians come in mind..

Well friends - do not forget that inspite of holding an high responsible position , afterall ZIDANE is a human being not a saint- we can clearly see a laughing cool face of zidane suddenly turning red and headbutting Materazzi- involuntarily , pls remember involuntary actions can never be controled - so here our Cool Hero was insulted to an extreme extent that even blinded his mind that he is the captain of the French team playing the World Cup final match. So we should really punish /acuse Materazzi for provoking and driving him to do so. The lip readers have clealy revealed that Materazzi has said words like UGLY - TERRORIST- PROSTITUTE - F___ YOURSELF - which are highly insulting and breaks the moral values for which any sport is played. This is an preplanned ,foxy action by the Italian just to make an advantage to win the World cup.So friends if u think that u can stand these words if someone utters to u - then u can say no excuse to Zidane.

well well.. matterazzi DID NOT insult any religion here... zidane has also claimed that mattz only said things about his mom and sister, nothing else... i wonder if why so many people still believ in the rumor, while the truth has been acknowledged by them both..

while, @ X FILES, u said zidane was being called,"dirty arab" by mattz, which was not only false, but u said yourself, a number of times, if i may add, "dirty italian","i cannot let dirty italian" and so forth.. are u not being a RACIST urself?? what a coincidence that u use the same "dirty" words.. well!

while for my answer, i think, it's not an excuse, zidane was experienced, he was used to that kind of insults, in fact he provoked matterazzi too, by saying, "well if u really want my shirt u can get it after the game" right after the nipple incident.. which has been claimed true by both zidane n mattz, although zidane changed it to more decent words. provocation vs. provocation, ended with headbutt..

i hope no racist issue arises any more than this ^^ both of them will get their punishment.. so what's more in that? even if both were expelled, nothing will change, matterazzi did not shoot penalty right.. i think most ppl have put up with this, even french supporter.. they have been very fair.. i think the one who against it are not the french supporters but italian haters =.=! thx.

Yeah it is...perhaps there could've been better ways to handle this, but since Zidane is probably not as talented as Materazzi in cursing people, we can't blame him for loosing edge.

According to BBC, Materazzi said something along the lines of "F**K your mather, she's a (insert her religion) whore." Now considering the fact that Zizou's mom was in the hospital with illness. One could understand. Hell, I even think Zidane was too nice...I totally would've beat the crap out of that P.O.S.

What Materazzi said was out of line but the better question is what is Zidane going to do when all of the world is calling him names for reacting the way that he did? is he going to beat everyone up?

Aside from calling Zidane an arab in derogatory terms and accusing Zidane of being a terrorist, Meterrazi was clearly seen giving Zidane a nipple twister before Zidane lost it.

BBC news also brought in an Italian lip-reader to find out what Materrazi said, "..Liar and I wish an ugly death on you and all your family". Zidane had also just found out that morning that his mother was seriously ill.

Materrazi may have been a complete scum, but it still doesn't justify Zidane's actions.

Ummmmmmm.... they were both saying things, but I think that whatever Materazzi said to Zidane touched his last nerve. It's still no excuse for his behavior, though.

I totally agree with Yo.

Zidane still kicks butt. He knows where his priorities were at that moment. He's gotta have faith in the rest of the team to carry them the last few minutes! And, they all put up a good fight! Good job, France.

Excuse for what? When you are a leader you must act like one whether you came from the ghetto or not. It could've been anybody that lost their temper. It doesn't mean they come from the ghetto. That has nothing to do with it. He lost his temper and looked like a classless idiot. He let someone get the best of him.
