hi this is janie again, im 20 yrs old i got my period last sunday 07-02-06 and today is 07-09-06 and im still on my period can someone tell me why this happens, i think its because my last period was like 4-5 months ago can it be that? ok so like i got my period this month is there more chances of me getting pregnant? when should i have sex to be on the safe side?

My cycles have always been screwy like that. If I go without one for a couple months the next one will be awful and have lasted up to 10 days. I hate that part of being a girl!

were you on the depo shot that's why you didn't have your period for the last few months? it could be that since you haven't had your period for some time that is why your period has been for a week, your body is just coming around again. if you are not on the pill or anything, it's really best to use a condom at least.
you need to be patient to figure out your cycle again, so that you can found out when you ovulate, which is the time you are most likely to get pregnant. you can have sex anytime, but you have to use the condom since you don't know your cycle yet. don't take any chances if you don't want to get pregnant.

Janie, yes, a prolonged period is common after not menstruating for several mos. Do you know why you missed several mos? That would have a lot to say about conception related questions going forward

my advise is go to your doctor and explain this to him or discuss this matter with your mum she is more experience she can say something batter, don't take self prescribe medicine meant be dangerous to your heath stay cool and watch carefully. you should have sex when this matter is resolved just stay tight.

could be caused by nervous tension,stress,your diet,the weather.Your best bet is talking it over with your doctor!
