We're not completely powerless and it's good to have goals. It gives one"s life a sense of direction.

What a stupid question, god doesn't give us anything including our breath. I believe that god helps you if you help yourself, but he sure as hell won't save you if you don't even care about yourself. And furthermore, if your actually having breathing problems, maybe you shouldn't have smoked so much, or perhaps it's just the luck of the draw, in any case, there are a lot of people worse off than you that don't ***** about it. Do what you can and perservere to the end and the final breath because when your dead you won't have to worry about it, every day above ground is a good day.

By feeling hopeless for even a future day when you believe that God gives you every breath you take, you're not having much faith. That's disappointing. Cheer up. I've had chronic breathing problems for 46 years and two near-death episodes and never thought of not living another day.

Well, i really don't believe in god myself, but if you do, more power to you. However, it seems to me that if there is a god, he tends to give more to those who are willing to help themselves as opposed to those who sit around waiting for God to "bless" them. Plan for the future if you want to improve the quality of the life you lead and achieve your dreams. If not, watch TV and play the lottery because you might be dead tomorrow.

The future is gonna happen, why not make some plans for it? You could just let life happen to you or you could make it turn out more to your liking. Your question is almost like asking why run from danger, dangerous things are out of our control. Even Jesus has a plan for the future. We are suppose to follow his example.

As long as our hearts are beating, we have the ability to do anything we set our mind to. Philisophical question as someone said? hardly..sound more like a cry for help to me...talk to a counselor or something. You sound way depressed and in a negative place if you think that we are just puppets waiting to have life breathed into us. Your life is what *you* make it, no one else....

We were all put on this earth for a reason, not to just waste away the precious time that has been give to us, your plans should be to make sure that your children have something to live for & their children have something to live for, I you don't have children you still have family, love your family each day, by loving yourself!

plans for the future is being responsible to yourself and to others...worrying for the future is another matter entirely, but to sit back and do nothing is not an excuse...we DO have the power to shape our future...just dont worry for it put ur trust in God....

It's both appropriate and biblical to make plans for the future.
"But rather we should say, 'If it's God's will we will sell, and be prosperous...'" which of course gives the credit for what we do to God, who deserves that credit.
