Is there a digital camera (not fancy) that I can use as a web cam? Can I get one that also allows me to download pictures onto my USB memory stick?

How do they work as a web cam? Do they come with some kind of a cradles?

Well, the thing is, most digital still cameras that also function as webcams are the cheap kind that really don't take great pictures and they also don't work great as a webcam. The above answers are correct that you can use a digital camcorder as a webcam, however, that varies by model. If you want a webcam, get a webcam, if you want a digital camera, get a digital camera. Note that webcams are capable of taking still images when attached to your computer but they do not function independently of that. I have both, a webcam and a still camera (and not a cheapo one either).

Digital camcorders are equipped with a USB cable to plug into your pc. It also comes with software that you can use to bring up the pictures. Even the cheapest ones have the ability to work as a web cam, and they all come with good instructions.

It's not digital cameras that do this. Some of the more advanced digital CAMCORDERS have that functionality.
