Cover the table with a lace cloth or other tablecloth. No one but you will know it's there. My son accidentally cut into my coffee table with scissors. To hide the marks, I've covered the coffee table with different cloths. I alternate with one that has a unicorn on it, one that has butterflies & one that's plain. I have a red & green one for Christmas that's packed away with the Christmas decorations.

If the cig burn isn't too bad, sand lightly and cover with a very thin layer of school glue as enamel (it's clear when dry). If it's bad, a bit of matching-colored wood filler over it after sanding and then enamel to match. At worst, if it's not varnished, a slightly darker stain. Last ideas, a vase, or decoration on entire table that you very sneakily cover the burn with. A tablecloth? Paint? i'm running out now, good luck.
